~No Vain Loss~ Book Review

Name: No Vain Loss

Author: MC Frank

Rating: 5

A soldier is summoned to the North Pole, days before the year changes, told to fix the great Clock for a celebration. He has no idea what to do. A girl, hunted for the crime of being born, almost dies out on the ice. She is rescued by the last polar bear left alive. A library waits for them both, a library built over a span of a hundred years, forgotten in the basement of an ice shack. The world hasn’t known hunger or sickness in hundreds of years. It has also forgotten love and beauty. The year is 2525. Inspired by the short stories of Ray Bradbury, this futuristic novel is set in a world where Christmas -among other things- is obsolete and a Clock is what keeps the fragile balance of peace. Written in three installments, this is the breathtaking and sensual story of how two unlikely people change the world, and each other, one book at a time. In No Vain Loss, the third installment, war is about to erupt. Who will be left standing when the stars begin to fade? Immerse yourself into the icy cold world of this scorching hot new novel.

My Thoughts:

I’m not going to write a very long thought process here because I’m not going to talk about any specifics in the book, I’m just going to write my overall thoughts on it. You’ll have to read the book for specifics!! 😉

In the final installment of this trilogy, I was absolutely blown away by the message of this story. Not only are you experiencing action, romance, and suspense throughout, but you are given something so powerful to think about and evaluate after the story is over. I can’t say enough great things about MC Frank. She is loving, giving, extremely talented, and just an overall wonderful person. I am so proud of her ability to put these stories on paper and deliver a message that can reach so many. So, thank you MC, for sending me this book. As always I am highly recommending this book (after you read the first two of course!). You will not be disappointed with it!

In Croswald, the only thing more powerful than dark magic is one secret…

When Ivy’s magic and her life is threatened by the Dark Queen, she scrambles to unearth her history and save Croswald before the truth is swept away forever.

My Thoughts:

This was truly a great book!! It took me a while to read it and it made me realize that I’m slower at reading middle grade books. It has nothing to do with how good the book is, I just find myself reading that specific genre slower. Do you ever find yourself reading a specific genre slower than others?

However, I really loved this book! When I put a book down and find myself thinking about the characters and the plotline throughout my day, I know that I love it. This kept happening with The Crowns of Croswald! I became very attached to the main character Ivy and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens in her next adventures.

I feel that this book was a great foundation for building the world of Croswald. It picked up its pace tremendously at the very end and it definitely left me wanting more. The development of the characters was great and I want even more of it in the next book(s). If you haven’t read this book yet I definitely recommend it! I really recommend it for a younger audience as it is captivating, clean, and adventurous. So thank you D.E. Night for sending me this book! I truly enjoyed going through adventures with Ivy 😉
